Steady handles money and health details. We keep as little as we can, we tell you what it is, and you can delete all of it.
Where Steady is today
Steady is a new product. It was first built for the PayPal AI Hackathon in November 2026, and we're still shaping it. The demo uses PayPal's sandbox, so no real money moves there.
What we keep
- From Google sign in: your name and email. We never see your Google password.
- Your time zone, so night hours mean your night.
- Your pact: the medicine, the start or dose change date, your rules, how long it runs, and who signed when.
- Your dose log: medicine, dose, date and any note you add.
- Purchases made through Steady: item, shop, category, amount, time, status, and the reasons and notes for any hold.
- PayPal references: order, authorization, capture and refund ids, a saved PayPal token, and a masked hint of your PayPal email. We never see your PayPal password or card numbers.
- Refund requests: your note to the shop and the shop's reply.
- Messages: notes in the app, and Ask Steady questions and answers.
- Summaries you make, and their share links.
- A log of PayPal events for your pact.
- Short technical logs that keep the service safe and working.
Who sees it
- You see everything in your pact.
- Your partner sees what you choose in "What your partner sees." You see everything they see, including their Ask Steady questions.
- Your care team sees a summary only if you share its link or print it. Links stop working after 30 days, and you can delete one sooner.
- Search engines don't. Summary pages, demo households and the demo shop are hidden from search.
What the AI sees
- For a purchase: the item title, shop category, amount, local time and your pact's rules. Text from shops is treated as data, never as instructions.
- For a refund note: the item title, shop category, amount and the day you bought it.
- For a summary: purchase counts by hour and week, shop categories, your medicine, doses and dates. No item titles and no amounts.
- Never: names, emails, addresses, PayPal ids or tokens.
- On the free plan, nothing is sent to AI at all.
Services we use
- PayPal, for payments, saved PayPal, subscriptions and order lookups. What you share with PayPal is covered by PayPal's own privacy statement.
- Google, for sign in.
- Anthropic, for the AI help on the $8 plan, through its Claude models. Anthropic says it does not train its models on data sent through its API by default.
- Emails: none yet. You'll find every note in your inbox in the app.
- A rented server that runs the app and its database.
We don't share your data with anyone else, except people you choose.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use advertising trackers.
- We don't diagnose anything.
Download or delete everything
- Download my data, in Settings, gives you a file of everything Steady keeps about you.
-
Delete everything, in Settings, removes your data from Steady. While your pact is on, this starts an early ending, which takes 72 hours.
- If you're the person in a pact, it ends the pact and deletes its purchases, dose log, summaries and messages. Any purchase still on hold is released first, so nothing is taken.
- If you're the partner, you leave the pact and your account is deleted. The person is told.
- What stays: PayPal keeps its own records of your payments, under PayPal's privacy statement. Backup copies of our database are kept for 12 hours, then deleted.
Demo households
Each "Try the demo" makes a private household of fictional people. It's tied to a cookie in your browser and deleted after 7 days. Demo payments use PayPal's sandbox. Demo emails are never sent; they stay in a demo outbox.
Cookies
We only use cookies needed to run Steady: one keeps you signed in, and one remembers your demo household. The PayPal button in the shop loads PayPal's own code, which follows PayPal's rules.
Not medical advice
Steady shows patterns. It doesn't diagnose or give medical advice. Talk to your care team about your health and your medicine.
Age
Steady is for adults 18 and over.
